SNAP TV and Scholastic Media To Develop
Six Innovative Educational DVD Games
New York, NY – February 10, 2006
- Snap TV, Inc., a leading producer of DVD Games, and Scholastic
Media, a division of Scholastic, the global children’s
publishing, education and media company, today announced
an agreement to produce and distribute DVD games based on
popular Scholastic properties, Clifford
the Big Red Dog®, I
SPY™ Spooky Mansion and
I SPY™ Treasure Hunt. The games are designed to
develop essential learning skills for children ages four
and up.
The first three titles, scheduled for release
in 2006, include Clifford
Phonics, I
SPY Spooky Mansion and I
SPY Treasure Hunt. “Combining Scholastic Media’s
brands and strength in producing children’s interactive
content with Snap TV’s expertise in the DVD game market
affords a unique opportunity to enhance learning on a popular
entertainment platform,” says Scholastic Media’s
Alan Waldman, SVP and General Manager, Interactive Products.
“We are excited about the relationship and look forward
to seeing continued success with these strong brands in
the DVD game category.” Clifford Phonics, created
for 4-6 year olds, will feature characters and voices from
the popular Scholastic series, Clifford The Big Red Dog
on PBS KIDS TV. The DVD game will invite children to join
Clifford and his friends at the Birdwell Island Carnival
to play entertaining carnival games, while teaching phonics,
vocabulary and spelling skills.
The I SPY titles, I SPY Spooky Mansion and
I SPY Treasure Hunt, use challenging riddles and games to lead
players through mysterious and exciting adventures. With each
new adventure, players ages six and up will develop reading
and problem solving skills.
“We are proud to be partners with Scholastic
Media, whose games are well-suited for the DVD format,”
says Snap TV CEO, Nicholas Wodtke. “Scholastic’s
